Back to the Beach – Jersey Shore, Delaware Seashore and Kiptopeke

We are going to let you in on a little travel secret today here at Livebreathemove.com. The absolute best time to go to the beach on the Atlantic is in the weeks immediately following Labor Day weekend. The weather is still good, the water is warm and the hoards of people and kids are back to wherever it is all these hoards of people go after Labor Day. Even rules such as whether or not dogs are allowed on the beach often change in our favor right about this time.

After New York, we had to decide if we wanted to take the inland route south and visit Baltimore and Washington DC or if we wanted to hug the coast and bum around the beach for a few weeks. Since we spent a months worth of eating out money in a weekend in New York and because we have both already visited Baltimore and DC, we decided to check out some beaches that were new to us. We stared in Tom’s River, Near the famous Jersey Shore. The warm water small crowds and big surf were a fun challenge for swimming.

Liberty Harbor RV Park Jersey City and New York City

Although we had read plenty of good reviews to go along with the typical negative, we were still hesitant about visiting New York City via RV. Well we did decide to check in to the electric/water parking lot of a park known as the Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey City.

Living and Working as New Englanders – Sort of

After Maine, Robin had a couple of weeks of work in the Boston area so we set up first at the Minute Man campground outside of Boston in Littleton. This was an above average campground that we primarily experienced from our office windows. The wooded campground provided good shade from some hot days and overall we enjoyed our week and the park.

Summer in the great outdoors-Maine and Acadia National Park

As we wrote this on Labor Day, which is the unofficial end of summer for most folks, we found time for a little reflection on our summer in the Northeast.  Our photos reminded us of how fun it was to explore during the summer!  Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island provided many wonderful opportunities to be out and about in nature, once we figured out how to avoid the summer crowds.
